However, if one MUST eat a raisin in a cookie, it had far better be dried and shrivelled and chewy rather than plump and juicy. Now that I'm g...Ha ha. I used to feel that way. Now that I'm getting old, I actually PREFER raisin cookies sometimes. But it's best to leave the raisins hard, shriveled and chewy before you add them to the batter. Some recipes ask you to boil the raisins first, to plump them up and make them squishy...
