Frozen to death at -30 likely feels no different than frozen to death at -40. The only difference lies in how quickly death (or, more likely, frostbite) will occur. If you take a 10-min. walk to the Post Office in -30 (without wearing a balaclava--recommended), your cheeks will glow crimson for a while when you get back inside. If you do this in -40 weather, you will have permanent damage to your face. The weather office issues these warnings so that people will be sensible and just stay inside, or if you can't, dress as though you were in Siberia.

Mrs. Blurn, I feel for you. I don't like PLUS 35 C any better. Maybe we should all move to England.Mrs. Pinkertonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05430881135921278001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2696426935279789613.post-71939012796837861992012-01-18T16:09:41.940-05:002012-01-18T16:09:41.940-05:00I'm equally as displeased with our 35C weather...I'm equally as displeased with our 35C weather, especially with an air-conditioner that drips water inside the house.Mrs Blurnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2696426935279789613.post-78982415755464963862012-01-18T14:56:31.998-05:002012-01-18T14:56:31.998-05:00I wonder...Can you really feel a difference betwee...I wonder...Can you really feel a difference between -34 and -44? Is there any point in being so precise once it gets that cold? Good thing I'm not a meteorologist: "Weather today will be just darned cold! So cold you could freeze your backside off--literally!"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
