I am totally going to do this.

Have a chalkboard in the kitchen. Since our "design aesthetic" (ha ha) is "shabby-eclectic-sorta country-laid back-retro-whatever-we-can-afford-I'm-no-designer-but-I-know-what-I-like-chic" it ought to fit right in. Handy and cute too.



But no chalkboard walls. There is a limit.

  1. Been there - it seems like a great idea until you are wiping chalk dust off of everything within a six food radius of the board.

    On the other hand, we can probably all use more calcium in our diets.

  2. Hey, good point. I use a whiteboard in my schoolroom, so have not had to deal with chalk dust much. And now that we're in the midst of renovations, I've had enough gypsum board dust to last me a lifetime.
