Hey, you can send one to me.

I've got a triple wide lot, and the kids to fill it.

  1. Can you imagine living in a 4000 square foot house with just you and your husband? Maybe a dog? Such a waste!

  2. No, but I CAN imagine living in it with 7 kids, and their cousins for sleepovers, and the in-laws occasionally. And having an office of my very own. Sigh.

  3. I wonder what view those grand windows overlook.

I don't understand these massive houses built on very uninteresting lots. No garden, no real trees... blah. Give me a tiny cottage on a nice plot of land I can call my own any day.

    1. Agreed. The sight of that house NOT surrounded by stately trees is just...wrong.

    2. Double agreed! Many of these houses (especially the ones in Toronto I've seen) are so close to their neighbours house, you look out your kitchen window directly into your neighbour's kitchen. Or better yet, your neighbour's brick wall.

  4. It probably overlooks another house, much smaller with its property taxes suddenly sky rocketing (we have some in these parts; they take up an entire lot and seem to do nothing but drive up the prices of everything around them).

    1. This makes me glad to have left city life behind. Even though the market value of my home is not very high (and never will be), in our tiny village, every lot is like a small acreage.
