I too immediately noticed both those things: stool by the sink, and the shiny, shiny floors. I think linoleum was the new rage in kitchen flooring in the 20's so they had to try to make it look pretty.
Ads haven't changed, even in 80+ years. And neither, incidentally, has our innate longing for cleanliness and order. Images like this always make me feel happy inside. I just want to climb into that sunny green kitchen in the top pic and have a cup of tea.
So functional! O to sit on a stool while I wash the dishes.

ReplyDeleteI can't get over how pristine-ly clean everything is - completely spotless and no clutter. Everything in it's place.
