Mrs. B, try not to feel envious

Prairie dwellers happiest.

Oh, and it's not just the economy. But you have to have lived here at some point to know why.

Quebeckers the least satisfied!! Quelle surprise!

  1. I'm too happy to feel envious. Living on the prairies created a residual effect by which I hear meadowlarks and smell chokecherry blossoms in my dreams.

Besides, this particular patch of Ottawa has been declared Saskatchewan territory, and I have the Saskie flag hanging on my bedroom wall to prove it.

    'Bunnyhugs', people, NOT 'hoodies'!!

  2. Good to know! I'm looking for work right now, and one has come up in Regina. Though I had friends in Ottawa who were so proud of where they came from they dubbed their house "Prairie Palace", I hadn't really considered the prairies an option.

That picture is really pretty, but I think I'd miss trees.

    1. If you move to Regina, you won't see many trees, but you wouldn't have to travel far to find some. You'd be very surprised how diverse the SK landscape/topography is (northern forest, rainforest (Cypress Hills), badlands, sand dunes, rivers, lakes, and yes, good old prairie grass).

  3. You will miss trees, Tess, just like I miss being able to see for 15 miles in every direction. But I am growing to love Ontario and if you move to Regina, I hope you will grow to love the prairies, too.

(I think Heaven will smell like chokecherry blossoms.)

    1. And there will be meadowlarks and red-winged blackbirds singing and chuck-chuck-chuckareeing nearby...
